BBPublications hosted its annual event to launch the publication of two new titles in the Beyond Black collectible coffee table book series:
Supertravel & Rejuvenating Retreats
As ever, we partnered with the Linveco Cultural Foundation which showcased the works of three artists:
The event took place at Shapero Rare Books, an eminently relevant venue in Mayfair, London.
A club-like haven for first edition and leather-bound book lovers, this type of antiquarian is fast becoming a rarity. Cherished and patronised by collectors, Shapero Rare Books occupies several floors in an elegant building in Mayfair and is a ‘must visit’ London landmark.
A huge thank you goes to our wine sponsor, Bernard Magrez, château owner/wine producer extraordinaire synonymous with some of the finest wines in France.
It is no secret that we are partial to Rosé and the Excellence des Muraires 2016 exceeded all expectations.
Very pale in colour, this is a rich wine with intense and very distinctive peach and strawberry nose. A Côtes de Provence Appelation, 13.00% alcohol content (50% Grenache, 15% Rolle, 35% Syrah), the 2016 vintage is ready now and absolutely outstanding.
Rosé wine of this calibre is, in fact, vastly superior to mass market character- less Champagne, but it does take someone like Magrez, owner of some 42 châteaux, among them the top Grands Crus Classés Château Pape Clement in Graves, Château La Tour Carnet in Haut-Médoc, Château Fombrauge in St Emilion and Clos Haut-Peyraguey in Sauternes, to make a Rosé of remarkable quality such as this, delicious served as an aperitif, as it is with dinner.
Attendees included representatives of brands featured in both books (full list below), individuals profiled in BBeyond magazine, subscribers and the trustees of the Linveco Cultural Foundation.
