Salon Privé’s April show, which takes place at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea is a successful spinoff of their bigger Blenheim Palace concours which is one of the supreme car events and only professionally judged concours in the UK.
Attracting some of the most exclusive exotic and classic cars, dealers across the UK come to show off their wares along with a number of other high end exhibitors. This show is made up of a limited number of cars, principally from the exhibiting dealers, competing in the actual concours judging; however, the event also showcases some of the exclusive overseas brands such as the American Hennessy Venom F5, the German Weismann and the Croatian all-electric Rimac, the worlds fastest accelerating production car.
Our personal favourite from the concours display area was an exquisite special Vignale bodied 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4.
At this year’s show you could also find an array of items from art, watches, boats, hats, motor cycles, shotguns and helicopters. Particularly catching our eye was an exceptionally restored wooden Andrews slipper launch from the 1950’s restored by Andrews Boathouses.

All in all, a good place to spend a day with a glass of bubbly and enjoy beautiful cars, high end commercial exhibitors in a relaxed environment.
