BBeyond and its cultural foundation, LCF, have committed to helping Geoff Holt’s Accessible Oceans Foundation organise two major events: a dinner hosted by THE PRINCESS ROYAL, PRINCESS ANNE AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE, AND A DINNER AT THE MONACO YACHT CLUB.
About Geoff Holt MBE & Accessible Oceans Foundation
Geoff Holt MBE is a yachtsman / adventurer who uses a wheelchair. In 2020 he will set sail to circumnavigate the world in a custom built, full-accessible 20 metre catamaran on a 16 month voyage to create global awareness of sailing as a meaningful and fulfilling sport for disabled people. Accessible Oceans will create centres of excellence at strategic maritime points around the world where adapted boats will be based and operated for their nations. The target is to create the opportunity for 100,000 disabled people a year to sail on an ocean by 2022.
‘There is something very special about being on the water. For someone with a disability, being at sea offers unparalleled freedoms. But the real magic happens out there, over the horizon. Only offshore can you truly get to understand the magnificence of the ocean.‘
