Accommodation spans four categories:

Dining aboard Soleil de Nile is a gastronomic journey through Egypt and beyond. From a decadent, international breakfast buffet, to the BBQ feast on top deck, each food experience offers a taste of Egypt, both traditional and contemporary.

The BBQ feast is one of the most memorable experiences: while the boat languidly sails from Aswan to Luxor guests can indulge in local dishes such as: grilled meats and sausages, shawarma, hawawshi, pita bread, tahini, baba ghanoush, and rice. The dessert spread was equally tantalising: Egyptian kunafa, basbousa, om ali (the best we have ever had), zalabya, as well as fruit platters galore.

All freshly prepared and served by smiling waiters, this is, as some guests declared, ‘the best BBQ they have experienced in their life’.

Fine dining on the lower level showcases the chef’s versatility: every day an a la carte menu provides European options and well as several traditional Egyptian ones. The menus offer: an amuse bouche, a starter, a soup, a main course and a dessert. Options range from the classic European favourites such as Niçoise salad and veal piccata, to Egyptian dishes such as Shawarma, hawashi and molokheya. Every dining experience gives a variety of options for those with daring taste buds and those who want something a little more familiar. Every dish, however, is exceptional in presentation and delectability.

The itinerary 

This is the raison d’etre for visiting Aswan and Luxor. Every group, no matter how small or large, is assigned a personal tour guide to give you as an in-depth experience as you desire. 

A typical itinerary presents as follows:

Philae Temple: a Ptolemaic-Roman temple complex dedicated to the goddess Isis, relocated in the 1970s to Agilkia Island to save it from flooding by the Aswan High Dam and showcasing a blend of Egyptian, Ptolemaic, and Roman style. Philae Temple is accessed by boat and is the induction into the temple experience, as well as the haggling experience as you negotiate a price with the boat owner.

Aswan natural reserve and Nubian village: boat life (and chaos) at its best. Enjoy a mystical-magical and utterly enchanting boat ride to a Nubian village – and in reverse, a traffic-jam style boat departure as hoards of tourists return to their cruise ships. The Nubian village is a cultural immersion into the heritage of ancient Nubia, one of Africa’s oldest civilisations. 

Kom Ombo: a unique ’double temple’ symmetrically dedicated to two gods: the crocodile god Sobek (fertility/creator) and the falcon-headed Haroeris (Horus the Elder). It remains one of Egypt’s most well-preserved and unique architectural achievements. 

Edfu: built between 237 and 57BC, it is the best-preserved ancient cult temple in Egypt, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus. It also considered to have housed the first library in history.

Valley of the Kings: a UNESCO world heritage site, this is the primary 500-year burial site for New Kingdom pharaohs (18th-20th Dynasties, 1539–1075 BCE), with new discoveries still being made.

Karnak: one of the world’s largest and most significant ancient religious complexes, built over nearly 2000 years.

Luxor Temple: an Ancient Egyptian in modern-day Luxor (ancient Thebes), founded around 1400 BCE primarily by Pharaohs Amenhotep III and Ramesses II.
